Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition affecting the heel. The pain you are experiencing occurs within a ligament on the bottom of your foot known as the plantar fascia. This ligament stretches from the heel bone to each of your five toes. Pain is usually common first thing in the morning when getting up from bed and may also be noticeable during the day after prolong sitting.
